एक चुनाव में दो उम्मीदवार थे। हारने वाले उम्मीदवार ने 41% वोट प्राप्त किये और वो 5598 वोटों से हार गया। कुल वोटों की संख्या कितनी थी ? There were two candidates in an election. The losing candidate received 41% of the vote and lost by 5598 votes. What was the total number of votes?

Answer (d) : हारने वाले उम्मीदवार ने 41% वोट प्राप्त किये हैं तो जीतने वाले उम्मीदवार को 59% वोट प्राप्त होंगे ।
⟹ उम्मीदवार ( 59% – 41% ) = 18% वोटों से हार गया ।
⟹ परन्तु उम्मीदवार 5598 वोटों से हार गया ।
अर्थात् 18% → 5598
⟹ 1% → 311
⟹ 100% → 31100
अतः कुल वोटों की संख्या 31100 है।

Answer (a) : Increase = 960 – 800 = 160
प्रतिशत वृद्धि = \(\frac{Increase}{Original Value}\) × 100
प्रतिशत वृद्धि = \(\frac{160}{800}\) × 100
प्रतिशत वृद्धि = \(\frac{16}{80}\) × 100
प्रतिशत वृद्धि = \(\frac{1}{5}\) × 100
प्रतिशत वृद्धि = 20%

दो संख्याएं है जब पहली संख्या को 125% से बढ़ा दिया जाता है तो वह संख्या दूसरी संख्या से 300 कम हो जाती है लेकिन यदि पहली संख्या को 150 से बढ़ा दिया जाता है तब वह संख्या दूसरी संख्या से 200 कम हो जाती है। उन दोनों संख्याओं का योग क्या है?

Answer (a) : माना पहली संख्या A है तथा दूसरी संख्या B है।
Step-1: पहली संख्या को 125% बढ़ा दिया जाता है अर्थात् संख्या 100% से बढ़कर 225%(100+125) हो जाएगी ।
पहली संख्या का नया मान = A का 225% = 2.25A
Step-2: 125% बढ़ाने पर वह दूसरी संख्या से 300 कम हो जाती है अर्थात्
2.25A = B – 300 …(i)
Step-3: पहली संख्या को 150 बढ़ा दिया जाए तब दूसरी संख्या से 200 कम हो जाती है अर्थात्
A + 150 = B – 200
A = B – 350 …(ii)
Step-4: समीकरण (i) व (ii) से
1.25 A = 50
A = 40 तथा समीकरण (ii) से B = 390
दोनों संख्याओं का योग = A + B = 50 + 390 = 430
